The Tanca Manna Park and its nuragic site are located within the city limits of Nuoro, in the southern part of town. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy a sweeping view of Monte Ortobene and the surrounding cityscape.

This nuraghe, dated back to the Middle Bronze Age, is just one of many megalithic monuments found in the Nuoro area and across the Barbagia region, along with numerous Giants’ Tombs and Domus de Janas - all evidence of the strong presence of the Nuragic civilization in this part of Sardinia.

In 2015, archaeological finds were unearthed at the site and are now on public display.

During the Fascist era, the park surrounding the archaeological site was used as a summer camp for children. The terraced layout, built using trachyte stone walls, still bears engraved symbols of the Fascist regime.

A visit to the Tanca Manna Archaeological Park offers a unique opportunity to explore Sardinia’s ancient history and cultural heritage, while also enjoying a striking natural landscape. Guided tours are often available, providing deeper insights into the site's historical and archaeological significance. Visitors can also walk along nature trails surrounded by the region’s typical Mediterranean flora.

Thanks to its blend of history, archaeology, and natural beauty, the park is an ideal destination for tourists and scholars alike, making it a must-see site for anyone passionate about Sardinia's past.
